National ICT Australia (NICTA)
National ICT Australia (NICTA) was established in 2002. We are a national organisation with five laboratories in four cities Melbourne Sydney Canberra and Brisbane. Our objective is to become a world-class Research Institute and Centre-of-Excellence in science and innovation. NICTA brings together many of Australia's and the world's top researchers in ICT. NICTA uniquely combines excellence in research education commercialisation and collaboration. We work in close collaboration with industry and other research institutions to solve problems and make breakthroughs in ICT which can be put to use for public benefit. NICTA is an important part of Australia's innovation system and seeks to generate new opportunities for Australian industry. Our focus is on use inspired basic research to address the technology challenges facing industry community and the national interest.

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
From automated teller machines and atomic clocks to mammograms and semiconductors, innumerable products and services rely in some way on technology, measurement, and standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Founded in 1901, NIST is a non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S. Commerce Department's Technology Administration. NIST's mission is to develop and promote measurement, standards, and technology to enhance productivity, facilitate trade, and improve the quality of life. NIST has an operating budget of about 864 million and operates in two locations Gaithersburg, Md., (headquarters¿½¿½234-hectare/578-acre campus) and Boulder, Colo., (84-hectare/208-acre campus). NIST employs about 3,000 scientists, engineers, technicians, and support and administrative personnel. About 1,600 guest researchers complement the staff. In addition, NIST partners with 2,000 manufacturing specialists and staff at affiliated centers around the country.

National Instruments
National Instruments is transforming the way engineers and scientists design prototype and deploy systems for measurement automation and embedded applications. NI empowers customers with off-the-shelf software such as NI LabVIEW and modular cost-effective hardware and sells to a broad base of more than 25000 different companies worldwide each year. Headquartered in Austin Texas NI has more than 4300 employees and direct operations in nearly 40 countries.

National IT and Telecom Agency
The National IT and Telecom Agency is part of the Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation and has a staff of about 250. The Agency's principal task is to develop and implement initiatives within key areas of the Government's IT policy strategy. A strategy that aims to ensure an optimal framework for IT and telecommunications and conditions that will enable citizens, businesses and the public sector to realize the network society. In this connection, the Agency, as an element in the Ministry's unit organization, also takes an active part in providing input to the Minister. Thus the National IT and Telecom Agency assists in advising the Minister on matters and legislation concerned with telecommunications, communications and information technology. The Agency also assists in the drafting of policy proposals, bills and executive orders in cooperation with the Ministry's departments.

National Post and Telcom Agency
The Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency, Post- och Telestyrelsen, PTS, is the authority that supervises activities in the radio, telecom and datacom areas. Its goal is for everyone in Sweden to have access to effective and reasonably priced postal and telecom services, and to ensure that the radio spectrum is used in the best possible way.
